Intra-Band Non-Contiguous CA

Intra-Band Non-Contiguous Carrier Aggregation

Aggregating separated component carriers located within the same operating frequency band.

Technical Explanation

When an operator owns fragmented spectrum chunks within the same band separated by competitor channels, intra-band non-contiguous CA aggregates them into a unified data stream. UEs require dual RF synthesizer loops or wideband digitizers to capture the non-adjacent channels simultaneously.

Key Functions

  • Aggregates fragmented spectrum blocks owned within the same band
  • Enables unified high-speed data transmission over non-adjacent channels
  • Accommodates regulatory licensing splits and historical band auctions
