INT-RNTI
Interruption RNTI (Preemption)
Group RNTI used to scramble DCI Format 2_1 notifying eMBB UEs that their downlink resources were preempted.
Technical Explanation
Configured via dci-PayloadSizeForINT, the INT-RNTI addresses a group of UEs. When urgent URLLC data punctures ongoing eMBB transmissions, the gNodeB broadcasts DCI Format 2_1 scrambled with INT-RNTI with a bitmap indicating which time-frequency blocks were preempted.
Key Functions
- Group identifier scrambling DCI Format 2_1 preemption notifications
- Contains bitmap indicating punctured time-frequency resource elements
- Prevents corrupted eMBB LLRs from contaminating receiver soft buffers
