CI-RNTI
Cancellation Indication RNTI
Group RNTI used to scramble DCI Format 2_4 commanding scheduled UEs to cancel pending uplink transmissions.
Technical Explanation
Introduced in 3GPP Rel-16, CI-RNTI is monitored by eMBB UEs. If a critical URLLC uplink burst arrives, the gNodeB broadcasts DCI Format 2_4 scrambled by CI-RNTI. Scheduled UEs whose planned PUSCH or SRS overlap with the cancelled resources immediately cancel transmission.
Key Functions
- Group identifier scrambling DCI Format 2_4 uplink cancellation commands
- Directs scheduled UEs to suppress planned PUSCH or SRS transmissions
- Guarantees clean, zero-interference spectrum for urgent URLLC uplink
