Measurement Event A2
Measurement event triggered when serving cell signal quality falls below an absolute configured threshold.
Technical Explanation
When serving cell RSRP or RSRQ drops below Thresh, Event A2 is reported to the gNodeB. This is the primary trigger for the network to start inter-frequency or inter-RAT gap-assisted measurements, preparing the UE for potential handover before the serving link fails.
