Event A1
Measurement Event A1
Measurement event triggered when serving cell signal quality rises above an absolute configured threshold.
Technical Explanation
When serving cell RSRP or RSRQ exceeds threshold Thresh, Event A1 is triggered. The gNodeB typically uses Event A1 to deactivate inter-frequency or inter-RAT measurements, allowing the UE to power down its secondary measurement receiver when serving cell coverage is exceptionally strong.
Key Functions
- Triggered when serving cell becomes better than threshold Thresh
- Prompts gNodeB to stop battery-draining inter-frequency measurements
- Used in mobility state engines to maintain stable single-carrier camp-on
