DMRS Type 1
Demodulation Reference Signal Type 1
DMRS pattern placing reference subcarriers on alternating subcarriers (comb-2) supporting up to 8 orthogonal antenna ports.
Technical Explanation
DMRS Type 1 employs a comb-2 frequency pattern (occupying 6 out of 12 subcarriers per PRB). In single-symbol configuration it supports up to 4 orthogonal antenna ports using comb shift and cyclic shifts; in double-symbol configuration it supports up to 8 orthogonal ports by combining frequency and time-domain cover codes.
Key Functions
- Comb-2 frequency structure (6 subcarriers per PRB)
- Supports up to 4 ports in single-symbol, 8 ports in double-symbol
- Commonly selected for high rank MIMO and eMBB data channels
