BSD

Bucket Size Duration

Token bucket ceiling parameter determining maximum data burst volume allowed for a logical channel during LCP.

Technical Explanation

Bucket Size Duration (BSD) is an RRC parameter (e.g. 5ms, 10ms, 20ms, 50ms, 100ms). The maximum token accumulation for a logical channel is bounded by PBR * BSD. This limits the burst size a single channel can consume in one grant, preventing traffic spikes from monopolizing the uplink link.

Key Functions

  • Limits maximum token bucket capacity to PBR * BSD
  • Controls maximum burst volume permitted per logical channel in single grant
  • Configured in RRC LogicalChannelConfig IE
