Native Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Usage Scenario
Core 6G usage scenario where distributed AI training and inference are natively embedded into the wireless fabric itself.
Technical Explanation
In 5G, AI is an external application bolted onto the network. In 6G Integrated AI and Communication, the cellular network acts as a distributed neuro-synaptic computing platform. Distributed radio units, edge nodes, and mobile terminals collaborate over the air to train foundation models, execute real-time federated inference, and autonomously optimize physical layer waveforms, beamforming, and routing dynamically.
Key Functions
- Treats computing and neural model inference as native network bearer services
- Orchestrates distributed federated learning across millions of radio endpoints
- Provides in-network compute acceleration for real-time robotic control
- Reduces global AI data movement latency and server backhaul congestion
