Fluid Antenna System (FAS)

Position-Flexible Dynamically Movable Pixel Antenna Array

Antenna technology where the physical radiating element can dynamically move or shift position on a microscopic scale to find fading peaks.

Technical Explanation

In wireless channels, signal strength fluctuates over millimeters due to constructive and destructive interference (deep fading). Traditional antennas are fixed in position and get stuck in signal nulls. A Fluid Antenna System (FAS) uses liquid metal (such as gallium-indium alloys) or reconfigurable micro-pixel RF switches. Within fractions of a millisecond, the radiating position shifts to an adjacent spatial point where constructive interference peaks, delivering a 10-20 dB signal boost without increasing transmit power.
