Continuous-Aperture MIMO (CAP-MIMO)

Spatially Continuous Electromagnetic Array for Terabit Communications

Mathematical and physical antenna structure eliminating inter-element spacing constraints to treat the entire panel as a continuous radiating aperture.

Technical Explanation

Traditional antenna arrays require elements to be separated by at least half a wavelength (λ/2) to prevent severe mutual coupling. Continuous-Aperture MIMO (CAP-MIMO) integrates dense metamaterials to treat an entire surface area as an unbroken spatial electromagnetic continuum. Governed by Fourier optics and Green's function field theory, CAP-MIMO achieves theoretical maximum spatial multiplexing gain per square meter of antenna panel.
