Slice/Service Type (SST)
Standardized Slice/Service Type
8-bit field within S-NSSAI defining standardized slice behavior: eMBB (1), URLLC (2), MIoT (3), V2X (4), HMTC (5).
Technical Explanation
Standardized SST values allow global roaming devices to request equivalent slice services in foreign networks. SST=1 provides high-bandwidth eMBB; SST=2 provides ultra-reliable low latency URLLC; SST=3 provides massive IoT; SST=4 provides cellular V2X automotive telemetry.
Key Functions
- Standardized 8-bit integer specifying baseline network slice behavior
- Enables consistent slice policy application across visited roaming networks
- Predefined types: eMBB (1), URLLC (2), MIoT (3), V2X (4), HMTC (5)
