Spatial Relation Info

Uplink Spatial Relation Information

RRC parameter specifying which downlink reference signal or SRS the UE must emulate for uplink transmit beamforming.

Technical Explanation

SpatialRelationInfo configures the spatial transmit beam for PUCCH, PUSCH, or SRS. It specifies a reference RS (SSB, CSI-RS, or another SRS). In reciprocity-based operation, the UE forms its uplink transmit beam using the same spatial filter it used to receive the specified downlink SSB or CSI-RS.

Key Functions

  • Directs UE which spatial filter to apply for uplink transmissions
  • Links uplink PUCCH and PUSCH beams to measured downlink reference signals
  • Enables precise uplink beam alignment in millimeter wave bands
