SCS 30 kHz
30 kHz Subcarrier Spacing (Numerology mu=1)
Most widely deployed 5G mid-band numerology, providing 0.5 ms slot duration and 100 MHz bandwidth.
Technical Explanation
Numerology mu=1 uses 30 kHz subcarrier spacing. Two slots exist per 1 ms subframe (0.5 ms slot duration), supporting carrier bandwidths up to 100 MHz (273 PRBs). It serves as the global workhorse numerology for C-band (3.3 - 3.8 GHz n77/n78) and 2.6 GHz (n41) TDD networks, balancing spectral efficiency, Doppler tolerance, and latency.
Key Functions
- Offers 0.5 ms slot duration for lower latency than LTE
- Supports maximum 100 MHz carrier bandwidth with 273 PRBs
- Serves as default numerology for global 5G mid-band TDD deployments (C-Band)
