Technical Explanation

While early satellite 5G used sub-3 GHz frequencies, massive capacity requires high-frequency bands. Release 18 standardizes RF requirements for Ka-band (20/30 GHz) and Ku-band (12/14 GHz) NR-NTN operations, establishing phase noise requirements, Doppler tolerances, and atmospheric rain attenuation compensation protocols.
