Beamforming Without Baseband

RF-Level Spatial Phase Steering in Network-Controlled Repeaters

Applies dynamic phase shifts and beam steering directly in the analog RF domain without decoding packets, eliminating processing latency.

Technical Explanation

Unlike small cells or IAB nodes that demodulate and re-encode every bit (adding 2 to 5 ms of latency), an NCR steers beams entirely in the analog domain. Using electronically reconfigurable phase shifters commanded by SCI, the NCR alters beam trajectory in nanoseconds, introducing virtually zero latency (under 100 ns group delay) to user traffic.
