N2 Control Plane Interface
Reference point between gNodeB and 5G Core AMF running NGAP protocol over SCTP/IP.
Technical Explanation
The NG-C interface (N2 reference point) terminates the RAN control plane in the 5G Core. It handles UE-associated procedures (PDU session setup, handover signaling, security context distribution, NAS message transport) and non-UE-associated procedures (NG Setup, Reset, Overload, Configuration Update).

- Terminates RAN control plane signaling with the 5G Core AMF
- Transports encrypted NAS signaling between UE and AMF
- Manages PDU session resource setup, modification, and release in the RAN
