N2 Reference Point (NG-C)
Reference point between gNodeB and AMF running NGAP protocol over SCTP/IP for RAN control.
Technical Explanation
N2 terminates the control plane of the radio access network in the 5G Core. It coordinates PDU session setup/modification in the gNodeB, manages Xn and N2 handovers, distributes AS security contexts, and transparently routes N1 NAS messages.
