CORESET
Control Resource Set
Time-frequency resource allocation grid configured for transmitting Downlink Control Information (DCI) on PDCCH.
Technical Explanation
A 5G CORESET is flexibly configured in time (1, 2, or 3 symbols) and frequency (multiples of 6 PRBs). A serving cell can configure up to 3 CORESETs per BWP. CORESET attributes include duration, frequency domain resources (bitmap), CCE-to-REG mapping (interleaved or non-interleaved), and precoder granularity.
Key Functions
- Defines localized or distributed time-frequency regions for PDCCH
- Configures CCE-to-REG bundle size and interleaving parameters
- Associates Quasi-Co-Location (QCL) and TCI states with control beams
