Branching Point (BP)
IPv6 Multi-Homing Branching Point
UPF functionality that routes multi-homed IPv6 packets across different PDU session anchors based on source prefix.
Technical Explanation
Branching Point (BP) is the IPv6 equivalent of the UL CL. The UE is assigned two IPv6 prefixes (one for local edge, one for central Internet). The Branching Point UPF inspects the source IPv6 prefix: packets with the local prefix are forwarded directly to the local edge N6, while packets with the central prefix route to the primary anchor.
