Beam Pair Link Determination
Selection by the gNodeB and UE of the optimal transmit and receive beam pair based on reference signal measurements.
Technical Explanation
During beam determination, the UE measures RSRP across swept downlink SSBs or CSI-RS resources using different receive antenna beam configurations. The UE identifies the highest-power beam pair (Tx beam from gNodeB, Rx beam at UE) and reports the SSB/CSI-RS index to lock in the communication link.
