Additional Maximum Power Reduction

Network-signaled power backoff applied by UEs in specific frequency bands to protect coexisting services.

Technical Explanation

In specific regional bands with adjacent public safety, satellite, or medical radio services, standard MPR backoff is insufficient. The network signals Network Signalling (NS) values in SIB1, instructing the UE to apply Additional Maximum Power Reduction (A-MPR) up to 10 dB to meet strict regulatory out-of-band emission masks.
