Technical Explanation
Because repeaters are installed on street furniture throughout a city, manual maintenance is cost-prohibitive. Rel-18 integrates NCRs into standard 3GPP OAM systems via the NCR-MT: operators remotely monitor amplifier temperatures, detect antenna element failures, adjust maximum power limits, and push firmware updates over the air.
