Intent-Based Network Management

Natural Language and Declarative Policy Management in 5GC

Allows telecom operators to declare high-level business goals (e.g. 'Guarantee 10 ms latency for Hospital Slice'), automatically translated into network configurations.

Technical Explanation

Configuring thousands of low-level parameters across hundreds of network functions is slow and prone to human error. Rel-18 Intent-Based Management introduces declarative interfaces: operators input high-level business intents, and automated cognitive engines translate these goals into specific slice parameters, QoS rules, and routing configurations across the 5G Core.

Key Functions

  • Translates declarative business goals into precise network function configurations
  • Eliminates manual parameter configuration across hundreds of disaggregated 5GC nodes
  • Continuously validates whether active network performance matches expressed business intent
  • Enables zero-touch autonomous management of enterprise and public 5G network slices
