Rejected NSSAI

Rejected Slice Set

Set of S-NSSAIs rejected by the network, with explicit rejection cause codes.

Technical Explanation

Returned in Registration Accept, the Rejected NSSAI informs the UE why requested slices could not be granted: (1) slice not available in current PLMN, (2) slice not available in current registration area, or (3) slice quota exceeded. The UE refrains from requesting rejected slices until conditions change.

Key Functions

  • Identifies requested slices that were denied by operator policy or location
  • Provides standardized rejection cause codes guiding device behavior
  • Prevents continuous repetitive signaling for unavailable slices
