Technical Explanation

LEO satellites orbit at high orbital velocities (~7.5 km/s) at low altitudes (500 - 1500 km). They deliver round-trip propagation delays of only 20 to 40 ms (comparable to terrestrial mobile networks), but introduce massive Doppler frequency shifts (up to +-48 kHz at 2 GHz) requiring dynamic baseband compensation.
