NRF Service-Based Interface
RESTful service interface exposed by NRF providing NF registration, discovery, and subscription services.
Technical Explanation
Nnrf includes Nnrf_NFManagement (NFs register, update heartbeat, and deregister their profiles) and Nnrf_NFDiscovery (consumer NFs query available producers matching slice, locality, and capability criteria). It forms the operational discovery backbone of the 5G SBA.
Key Functions
- Enables dynamic registration and heartbeat monitoring of NF instances
- Resolves discovery queries based on slice (S-NSSAI), DNN, and locality
- Automates dynamic routing and zero-touch lifecycle scaling in 5GC
