Namf Interface

AMF Service-Based Interface

RESTful service interface exposed by AMF providing communication, context transfer, and event exposure services.

Technical Explanation

Namf provides HTTP/2 JSON APIs: Namf_Communication (inter-AMF context transfer and N1/N2 message routing), Namf_EventExposure (notifying NFs of UE reachability, location, and registration events), Namf_MT (mobile-terminated paging coordination), and Namf_Location.

Key Functions

  • Exposes AMF microservices to peer 5GC Network Functions via HTTP/2
  • Enables inter-AMF UE context transfer during mobility handovers
  • Provides real-time event notifications for UE reachability and location
