RRC Encryption Key
Ciphering key derived by gNodeB and UE from K_gNB protecting RRC control plane messages over the air.
Technical Explanation
Derived from K_gNB, K_RRCenc is applied in the PDCP layer of Signaling Radio Bearers (SRB1, SRB2, SRB3) to encrypt over-the-air RRC reconfiguration, measurement, and mobility signaling, preventing wireless eavesdropping of radio configuration.
